Type Locality and Naming

The type section is at Dushuke in Pingba, Wenshan County, Yunnan. The Dushuke Fm was named by the Comprehensive Group of No.2 Yunnan Party of Regional Geological Survey in 1973, and was published by Yunnan Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources (1990).

Synonym: (独树柯组)


Lithology and Thickness

The formation is composed of yellowish white sandstone intercalated with grayish green shale. In the type area, the Dushuke Fm is 126 m thick.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

It rests conformably on the banded argillaceous limestone in the upper part of the Xiamududi Fm

Upper contact

It is conformably overlain by the limestone of the Shanpianshan Fm

Regional extent

The Dushuke Fm is widespread, and exhibits persistent lithology and variable thickness from 355 m to 55 m from Xichou to its adjacent areas.

Fossils

The trilobites Asaphopsis ex. gr. granulatus, Szechuanella, Psilocephalina, Asaphellus tungtzensis and brachiopod Finkelnburgia were found (Yunnan Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources, 1990).
